The Rider Waite Tarot site actually came about as a result of one of my own personal Tarot readings. Hopefully that means that this site will go on to help others on their journey into the Tarot. For those interested in the links between the physical and spiritual realms, Tarot seems to offer me, as it does many others, the chance to walk the path that allows these realms to connect.

Please be aware that I do not profess to be an expert on the Tarot. However, I don’t believe that such a thing exists. For me, Tarot is a very personal journey. And I believe it to be so for all my fellow enthusiasts. Everything from choosing your cards, to the meanings assigned to the different Tarot symbols, is a unique and individual reflection of who and where we are in our own life’s journey. Some may be more advanced on their journey, but that still does not qualify them as experts as there is always more to discover than is already known.

There are no right and wrong ways to read Tarot cards. There is only the way that allows the cards to speak to you on a level that you can understand and convey meaning to. For me, this is the essence of Tarot. My interpretations may not agree with someone else’s, but they are always correct for the questions and guidance I seek are unique to me. And I’ve found this to be true no matter who the reading is for.

Why Rider Waite?

For the majority of Tarot enthusiasts, the Rider Waite deck is the one deck most commonly turned to when first starting out on their journey. Even though we may go on to buy numerous Tarot decks, there will always be one particular deck that is chosen over and over again as the preferred reading deck. And for most people, it will be Rider Waite, as that is the deck that started their journey.

My own personal deck of choice now is the Native American Tarot deck. I have no idea why this deck speaks to me as it does. But I have realised it is better to simply allow the cards to speak than to question their reason why.
